Who We Are

Kayenta is a UX product design studio. We design the large internal systems and enterprise platforms that operations, support, and engineering teams depend on every day — admin consoles, command centers, data tooling, and the dense, workflow-heavy software most users never see. The work is rarely flashy, but it is where measurable productivity, accuracy, and trust are won or lost.

Alongside that practice, we build clean, conversion-focused websites for small businesses — local shops, service providers, and independent operators who need a credible online presence without the overhead of a full agency engagement. Two audiences, one discipline: clarity over decoration, and design decisions grounded in how real people actually do their work.

What We Do

UX for Internal Systems & Platforms

Internal tooling is where most of a company's work actually happens, and it is also where design is most often neglected. We specialize in the operational software that sits behind the scenes: admin portals, command centers, fulfillment dashboards, analytics consoles, configuration tools, and the long-tail workflows that power day-to-day operations.

We work in the messy middle — translating opaque domain logic, legacy data models, and entrenched workflows into interfaces that operators can actually move through quickly. The goal is fewer clicks, fewer errors, and faster onboarding for the teams who run the business.

Product Design & Discovery

End-to-end product design for B2B and enterprise software — from early discovery through shipped iteration. We partner with product managers, engineers, and the operators who use the product to frame the problem before we design a pixel.

Engagements typically include stakeholder and user interviews, workflow mapping, information architecture, interaction design, and detailed specs that engineering can build from without ambiguity. We stay involved through implementation, because the best research and prototypes can still die in the handoff.

Design Systems

Large platforms accumulate inconsistency the same way they accumulate features — quietly, until it becomes expensive. We build and maintain the component libraries, tokens, and patterns that keep a sprawling product feeling like one product.

Our work covers Figma architecture, component APIs that map cleanly to code, accessibility standards, documentation that designers and engineers actually read, and the governance model that keeps the system from drifting six months after launch.

Small Business Websites

A focused practice for small businesses — local services, independent shops, studios, and solo operators — who need a professional, mobile-first website that converts visitors into customers without the cost or complexity of a full agency.

Each site is built around the handful of things that actually matter for a small business: a clear value proposition, easy contact, simple booking or inquiry flows, fast load times, and a structure that ranks. We handle copy direction, photography guidance, accessibility, and the launch — and we hand you something you can maintain on your own.

Client Feedback

Jason Fournier

Chad is a skilled and talented product designer. He can flex to accommodate a variety of styles. Our design language had been worked on by various designers over time; Chad helped us begin to reestablish a consistent baseline. He took over Figma, organized it, and configured components and a design system. Chad helped us integrate our first Large Language Model (LLM) powered features into the platform. He collaborated with marketing to tie design elements in the product to those in our collateral and website and vice versa. Chad is easygoing, collaborative, and able to navigate relationships with team members with patience and grace. He is also fun to work with - he started a water-cooler Slack channel and Thursday happy hours. I recommend Chad as a product designer and a high-quality addition to any product team.

It was always a pleasure working with Chad on various projects. He is an excellent person to bounce design ideas off of, and will always have creative suggestions for how to improve a design and will ask insightful questions. Chad’s design background and experience, coupled with his design chops was great addition to our team. His ability to understand both user, design, and technical issues was refreshing. Any team would be lucky to have Chad as a UX Designer. I would definitely work with Chad again, if given the chance!

His strong sense of responsibility shines through with every project, taking design concepts end-to-end. Chad has consistently stayed focused on the user experience, and been an advocate for the user when working with Engineering and PM. He does not hesitate to ask questions of others on the team to help solidify his UX results. It was a pleasure to work with him and I am confident he will add value to any organization he is a part of.

I have had the pleasure of working with Chad at CDK. Chad and I collaborated on numerous design based projects for CDK’s automotive client base. As a designer Chad has this unique ability to optimize content which not only met campaign objects but exceeded it. He would re-create assets provided to us by our client partners into content which was fluid with user experience ease at its core. Chad did not shy away from a challenge and delivered on projects with tight deadlines.

Always keeping up with industry trends, Chad has a good grasp on up coming tech and its potential impact on existing business. Chad will not only add strength to any team he is on, but will push it to perform at its optimal capacity. He is a great asset for any organization.

Founder & Principal Product Designer — Enterprise UX, Platforms, AI/ML

I'm a Product Design leader with 15+ years of experience focused on the kind of UX work that rarely shows up in case-study galleries — the large internal systems and enterprise platforms that companies actually run on. Admin tools, command centers, operational dashboards, configuration software, and dense, workflow-heavy interfaces for the operators, analysts, and engineers who use them eight hours a day. It is unglamorous, deeply rewarding work, and where good design has outsized leverage.

I partner closely with engineering, product, and the operators themselves — running research, mapping workflows, building design systems, and turning complex domain logic into interfaces that move fast and don't get in the way. Alongside the enterprise practice, I also build clean, conversion-focused websites for small businesses who need a credible online presence without the cost or overhead of a traditional agency. Same discipline, different scale.
